Just wanted to let our community know about an awesome film series put on by local non-profit, Lane Coalition for Healthy Active Youth (LCHAY). Details below. Thanks for posting this!
Tuesday, March 9, 6:00 PM at the Downtown Eugene Public Library-Free film screening by local non-profit organization, Lane Coalition for Healthy Active Youth (LCHAY): Unnatural Causes; In Sickness & In Wealth. Unnatural Causes explores how inequities in housing, wealth, jobs and education translates into bad health. Facilitated community discussion will follow the film. This event is part two of What the Health?! A Film & Forum Series Exploring How Media, Place and Policy Impact Health and is co-sponsored by Downtown Eugene Public Library. “A Day of Dance” Senior Expo is coming to the Lane Events Center on Monday, April 12th between 10 am and 4:30 pm. This is a community event benefiting the American Cancer Society, and is open to all ages — admission is free. The program is being sponsored by several area retirement communities, healthcare organizations and local businesses. In addition to live music (and dancing), including performances by Mr. Clint Ingbretson (Frank Sinatra and Elivis Presley Tribute Artist), Dean Kuykendall, Rain Tree and others, there will be an art show, numerous displays, exhibits, free drawings (including a chance to win a free Royal Caribbean cruise), etc. There’ll be something for everyone, so invite a friend and come on out for a truly fun and memorable time. For further details, contact Mr. Dan McFarland, event coordinator at (541) 601-0246.
