Portland resident Tola Brennan, 21, also known as Thom Silverman, has been missing for two weeks, according to family members. And he doesn’t have money, ID, weather-appropriate gear or a mobile phone.
Brennan, who was last seen on January 10 in Oregon City , was possibly heading south toward Eugene.
“Tola had an encounter with some officers from the Milwaukie police department and he told them that he was heading south, that’s why [the police] gave him a ride to the entrance ramp for 205 in Oregon City,” said Randee Silverman, Brennan’s mother. “Since Eugene is the next big city, we thought we would start there.” 
Brennan is 5’6’’ and weighs approximately 140 lbs. He was last seen sporting a full beard and wearing a dark blue full-length down coat, a small pink knapsack and slippers.
Eugene resident Joan Siegel – a friend of the Silverman family – told MyEugene that when Brennan left Portland he said he was going on a “spiritual quest.”
Brennan’s mom, Randee Silverman, says she filed a police report with the Portland Police Department.
“But we were contacted by the detective that worked in the missing person department…[Tola’s] case did not meet the criteria that is required for someone to be kept in the national [missing person] database,” said Silverman. “They made calls on our behalf, but there wasn’t really anything else they could do.”
Silverman said family members also talked with someone from the Oregon State Police and “he sent out the flyer to all the police departments in Oregon.”
Over the weekend, Brennan’s mother and father scoured Eugene in search of their son. They visited White Bird Clinic, CAHOOTS, ShelterCare and Occupy Eugene.
“The more people that know, the better chance we have of finding [Brennan],” said Siegel.
