Event will be held twice in one weekend to accommodate public

Astrologer Johanna Mitchell of Eugene is hosting an Astrology event in 2012.

Astrologer Johanna Mitchell of Eugene is presenting her annual predictions for 2012 at Tsunami Books, 2585 Willamette St., on January 7 and 8 from 2-4 p.m. A donation of $10-$15 is requested. All proceeds will benefit Laurel Hill Center’s Immediate Need Fund.

“From my perspective adults with serious mental illnesses are often invisible and Laurel Hill Center helps people recover. They give so much hope and for that reason I want to help,” said Mitchell. “Not many people in our community know what a valuable resource this agency provides. I am honored to bring attention to their services.”

The “Future Signs: The Astrology of 2012” talk will also include forecasts for each sign of the zodiac and Mitchell’s “2012 Highlights” handout. See the 2011 handout here [PDF].

Mitchell, a resident of the Laurel Hill neighborhood, has lived in Eugene since 1981. She is professionally certified by the American Federation of Astrologers (AFA) and is a graduate of the National Center for Geocentric Research (NCGR) Master Class in Spherical Astronomy and Mathematics. Mitchell has spoken at functions for many astrological organizations including AFA, NCGR, United Astrology Conference, Southwest Astrology Conference, Aquarius Workshops and International Society of Astrological Research (ISAR), and has presented her astrological predictions to the public on television and radio.

According to Mitchell, who has been making annual predictions for the past 30 years, some recent forecasts included:

  • the election of Kitty Piercy as Eugene’s mayor before she first announced her candidacy;
  • the forecast that water would become a global issue;
  • the prediction of Obama winning the presidency;
  • the declaration of 2011 as a year of revolution; and
  • the emergence of the Tea Party.

Mitchell says there are about 125 seats available for each event, which will also include a standing-room-only area.

“Just to let you know that this event fills the parking lot, as well as the surrounding neighborhood parking …so it would be nice if more people coming to our events rode their bikes, walked, took public transportation, car-pooled, or teleported,” said Tsunami officials.

I am interested in meeting an astrologer and having a “reading” of my potential, life situations, etc. Do you see individuals for this and what might the cost be?
Please respond as early as possible for I will be leaving town soon.
Thank you for your time and energy….Sandra
