Marion Knox is one of a live band of brothers with four-part sibling harmony and a repertoire of uplifting gospel.
The Knox Brother Quartet has been performing for over four decades in churches throughout the United States. These brothers perform mostly gospel tunes and are recognized by the Pacific Gospel Music Association in Eugene, Oregon.
Many people have grown to love and respect the brothers. Yet, in the past couple of months, accusations have surfaced about one of the brothers, Marion Knox.
Marion Knox is a self-proclaimed gospel singer, farmer and deliverance counselor. For several years now, he says he has helped set people free from the effects of abuse and mind control.
Marion dabbles in “repressed memory therapy” (RMT) and a front-page story in the Democrat Herald recently stated that Marion Knox is being accused in a lawsuit of instilling false memories.
RMT is a very controversial method of treatment; some have referred to it as “mind games” and many insist that it has the capability of creating false memories.
The concept of RMT was originated by Sigmund Freud in his 1896 essay Zur Ätiologie der Hysterie (“On the etiology of hysteria”). Freud abandoned his theory between 1897 and 1905.
Marion uses this therapy in his counseling sessions. His ideas and concepts are not what one might be used to hearing from the pulpit; maybe that is why Marion conducts his bible studies out of his own home.
Victims are claiming that Knox also conducted his counseling sessions from his home. These counseling sessions are now being called into question and hitting the Christian community pretty hard. How could a Christian counselor become involved in such a law suit?
Former Albany resident, Stephan Skotko, has filed a civil lawsuit against Marion Knox and his wife Doris, claiming their marriage counseling sessions led Skotko’s family members to file false claims of child abuse against him.
The suit, filed in August in Linn County, alleges Marion and Doris Knox were negligent in their counseling and should have reasonably foreseen he would suffer criminal charges and emotional problems with his family as a result.
The attorney for the Knox family, Michael Long of Eugene, filed a motion December 3 asking for clarification on the negligence claims and the monetary damages sought. Judge John McCormick granted the motion and gave Armstrong 20 days to file an amended complaint.
After the story was published, many more victims have come forward claiming that Knox is in the business of “implanting false memories” and is destroying families.
Could this be true?
Marion Knox’s counseling practices have come into question before. Records state that, in 2002, defense attorneys for a Brownsville man accused of sex abuse found Knox had been counseling the girl who filed the charges. The team spoke with other families who had been through counseling with Knox and cited three cases in which Knox had concluded there had been sodomy within the families, although the families disputed the allegation. The charges against the Brownsville man were later dropped.
It might be time for authorities and the Christian community to investigate Marion’s counseling techniques and find out why it is that a large percentage of his clients come out believing that they were all sodomized as children?

I find this all very sad. I worked with Marion back in 1995 and have been set free of many things because of the deliverance..by the Blood of Jesus I should say.
Marion helped me a great deal. He is one of the most legitimate deprogrammers out there. He doesn’t charge for his work but takes donations if you can do it. I hope they don’t negatively affect him as he is one of the few good ones out there.
A Heart Held Ransomed – will be released in Mid-March; I must warn you it is not a book for the faint of heart. A book that sheds light on the unscientific practice of “RMT” repressed memory therapy. Implanted false memories, is it possible? Read the book and then decide……
Sure false memories can be implanted. That does not deny the real memories for the real victims.
Recovered Memory Therapy hurts everyone involved. Recovered memory therapy causes long term harm to the patient. Elizabeth Loftus said “…patients’ lives are devastated after ‘memory’ recovery. Their health declines, they lose their jobs, they get divorced, and in some cases they lose custody of their minor children.” (E. Loftus, Applied Cognitive Psychology, 1997, Vol. 11, Pages 25 to 30.) She found out that the longer they stayed in therapy, the more their mental health declined.
http://www.whale.to/b/knox1.html Read this testimony from Marion Knox. RMT in the wrong hands is scary!!!! Before you seek counsel check out what they believe and if Marion Knox is correct than the majority of men out there are sodimizers and they are sodimizing your children. Before you defend Marion read his interview, it sounds like a man who’s gotten off the beaten path and has created his own doctrine. Something is not right here but don’t listen to me read his interview!
Unfortunately, we have lost our daughter (she’s now 19) due to having false memories of sexual abuse (initially by some schoolmates which eventually expanded to include her father) due to “recovered memory therapy” at Mercy Ministries, and she has cut off all contact with us. There has thankfully been no legal action. We are not interested in suing (even though the therapists where she was treated sure deserve to be!) , we just want our daughter back and pray that someday she come to realize that these memories are false. The place she was treated by these therapists at seems to be a cleverly-disguised cult…I corresponded recently with someone who was her roommate and that’s what she claims it was and they use “recovered memory therapy” as a way of control and an effective way of separating them from their family.
you are wrong. I have been set free, even from hating you. it’s simple, Jesus loves you my friend. i will not argue with you as you seem to have made up your mind already. no harm intended. i hope you have a rich and fulfilling life.
(last post was an error)
i was a victim of this sex abuse which is talked about. Marion Knox helped me more than any psychiatrist could, I have seen a lot of them. it took 5 to 6 years for it to happen. but it happened. Memory’s came back.
any one who opposes this is simply wrong. I have been set free from so much hate and anger. even toward you my friend. I hope you have a rich and fulfilling life! jesus is real and loves you. i like John 3:17, check it out.
Dear Rich,
I am glad that Marion was able to help you, I am not opposed to therapy, however Marion Knox has spent a lifetime trying to convince individuals that they have been ritually sodomized.
Marion claims that at least 95% of the population has been sodomized? He has also stated numerous times that the Mormons and Catholics actually have their children sodomized, now Rich this is pretty far out there.
Sexual abuse of any kind is wrong! Falsely accusing someone is not right either. I will not back down on my stance, I want to see sexual abusers prosecuted and see that those that have been sexual abused defended and helped.
I’m sure there are those out there that Marion has helped but there are many more that have been victimized by Marion. Marion Knox has torn apart families and destroyed lives, with his untruths, his manipulation, hypnoses, and theatrical shenanigans. This can not be condone.
Rich you can’t tell me that you don’t care about all these lives that he has destroyed, you’ve been sexually abused and you know how horrible that was, what about all these victims who have come forward of what Marion has done to them?
You can’t have it both ways you can’t say that its not okay to sexually abuse someone and then defend someone who has abused numerous families.
The courts have heard Marion’s testimony they will be deciding whether he should continue to “play doctor”.
Everything that I have stated about Marion can be found in his own interviews, he himself claims that there is a hidden sect of society that are out there sodomizing children in vast numbers opening the third eye.
Rich, its horrible that you were a victim of sexual abuse and you did not deserve all the pain, confusion and hurt that, that has caused you. And, I too wish you a prosperous life, now tell Marion Knox that he can not continue with the lies and manipulation and tell him to stop abusing those that he has been treating.
The bad guys had to come up with some way to stop him, and what better way than the jesuit/freemasonic/luciferian “legal” system?
