[PHOTOS] [VIDEO] Eugene Celebration 2010: Dancing in the streets!

by Jaculynn Peterson on August 31, 2010

ColorWave It gave us music for the ears, candy for the eyes, treats for the tongue and stimuli for the soul.

But, mostly, the 2010 Eugene Celebration gave us an excuse to dance – at any particular time, at any particular place, for any or for no reason (Hey, who says you need music to dance?).

With 33 musical acts performing in a variety of genres – including blues, bluegrass, hip hop, jazz, Latin, reggae and rock – it is no wonder Eugene residents came out en masse to dance during the celebration, which was held downtown from August 27 through 29.DancingInStreet

The event offered something for everyone and also featured a Sustainability Village, Film Festival, Kid Zone, Car Show, Marketplace…and of course, the locally renowned Eugene Celebration Parade, which “represents the best of Eugene in all its diversity.”

Here are some photo highlights of the event. If you want to see more photos from the community, visit our Flickr page. And feel free to add your own photos!
