MyEugene is hosting a photo contest with the theme: What is “news” to you?
The contest will run from Thursday, May 20 through Thursday, June 3 at 5 p.m. Winner will be announced at MyEugene’s Community Celebration at Cozmic Pizza on June 6.
THE WINNER WILL BE FEATURED IN THE FALL 2010 ISSUE OF EUGENE MAGAZINE. The WINNER will also receive a $150 Cashier’s Check and one (1) yearly subscription to Eugene Magazine. The RUNNER-UP will receive a $50 Cashier’s Check and one (1) yearly subscription to Eugene Magazine.
Members of the community will vote for their favorite (based on Rule #2 below) on-site at the event.
CONTEST OVERVIEW
WHAT:
- MyEugene is hosting photo contest – open to all residents in Oregon.
- The contest theme: What is “news” to you?
- The winning photo will be featured in the Fall 2010 issue of Eugene Magazine.
- The WINNER will also receive a $150 Cashier’s Check and one (1) yearly subscription to Eugene Magazine.
- The RUNNER-UP will receive a $50 Cashier’s Check and one (1) yearly subscription to Eugene Magazine.
WHEN:
- Contest is open from May 20 through June 3, 2010 at 5 pm PT.
- Voting takes place on-site during MyEugene’s Community Celebration on June 6 during this time period: 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 pm.
- Winner will be announced at the event at 7 pm. (Winner does not need to be present.)
- Event continues with live music until 9:30 pm.

1. Submit a photo with subject matter that represents “news” to you.
2. Photo must tell a story – all by itself. No captions allowed. << This RULE is what the public will vote on.
3. Must be a photo that you took – at any point in time – that was never before published.
4. Subject to the unlimited rights granted to MyEugene (see “Contest Rules” PDF), you retain all other copyrights and rights to future use of the photograph you enter into the contest. MyEugene will credit individual photographers when and if photo is reused.
5. Photo submissions may be used in a future commercial and/or another contest for MyEugene.
6. Photos may be submitted HERE.
7. MyEugene reserves the right to reject any submissions. In the event that this does occur, you will be notified and provided with an opportunity to re-submit another entry.
8. PRIZE MUST BE CLAIMED BY JUNE 13, 2010 AT 7 PM PT. Otherwise another vote will be held online at a later date and a new winner will be selected.
9.In addition to the live announcement at the event on June 6 at 7 p.m. and a public announcement on MyEugene’s website on June 7, the winner(s) will also be notified once via email.
10. Contestants must have an Oregon address (where the prize will be sent).
11. One photo submission per contestant will be allowed.
12. Anyone attending MyEugene’s Community Celebration can cast one (1) vote in the contest.
13. In the event that less than 15 submissions are received the contest will be cancelled and may be rescheduled for a later date.
