Eugene and Springfield area residents are encouraged to attend and provide input on five-year plan
An open house to collect public feedback on a community housing and development plan will be held on Wednesday, February 17 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Library Meeting Room at Springfield City Hall, 225 Fifth Street.
The meeting will provide an opportunity for Eugene and Springfield residents to learn more about community needs and to provide feedback on the plan, which was jointly developed by and for the cities of Eugene and Springfield in order to receive federal funding.
Eugene and Springfield have spent the last year compiling data and information to assess community needs. The “Eugene-Springfield 2010 Consolidated Plan” identifies demographic trends in both cities and the needs of low- and moderate-income households, including those who are homeless and/or have other special needs. It also includes a housing market analysis. The plan establishes goals and identifies a range of activities related to housing, economic development, and social services to be carried out for the five years beginning July 1, 2010.
