Local celebrities will be acting as sommeliers, servers, hosts and bartenders at a Haiti fundraising event at Ambrosia Restaurant on February 2 from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
According to restaurant owner, Armen Kevrekian, local celebrities that will “show up for support” include U.S. District Judge Michael Hogan, Eugene School Board member Anne Marie Levis, and neurosurgeon Glenn Keiper.
Ambrosia’s goal is to donate $5,000 to Doctors Without Borders, which has an established presence in Haiti. Kevrekian says the total donation will be comprised of a portion of receipts from lunch and dinner, as well as in-kind value resulting from employees who are volunteering their time for the event and many local distributors who are donating food and wine for the event.
Those who cannot stop by for a meal are encouraged to send a check to made out to Doctors Without Borders to Ambrosia.
Ambrosia is located at 174 E. Broadway in downtown Eugene. For more information, call 541.342.4141 or visit their website.
