toiletpaperpup A special event to benefit Lane County Animal Shelter (LCAS) will be held at Cozmic Pizza on January 21 at 7 p.m. Admission, which is based on a sliding scale, is a $3 – $20 donation.

Donations of pet blankets, toys, carriers, food and kitty litter are also requested.

Attendees can participate in a silent auction featuring:

  • gift certificates – ranging from $25-$100 from local merchants;
  • framed photographs;
  • stained glass ornament with a sticker price of $350; and
  • free vouchers with massage therapists and reflexologists.

All bids must be backed up with cash or checks in hand.

The event will also feature live music by these local acoustic bands, both of which will play a mixture of folk, pop, country and bluegrass:

All of the money collected from admission fees and from the auction will go to medical care of the LCAS animals. Medical care for these animals is not funded at all by the government and relies solely on the generosity of donors, according to Ken Viscidi, LCAS volunteer and guitarist for Third National Band.
