Mayor Kitty Piercy will deliver the annual State of the City Address on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at 5:30 p.m., in the lobby of the Hult Center.
The public is welcome to join Mayor Piercy, who will highlight key accomplishments of the City of Eugene in 2009. She will also outline the city’s 2010 goals to support the City Council’s five umbrella objectives, which include:
- Safe Community;
- Sustainable Development;
- Accessible and Thriving Culture and Recreation;
- Effective, Accountable Municipal Government; and
- Fair, Stable and Adequate Financial Resources.
The event will also feature light refreshments and a community awards ceremony recognizing individuals and organizations whose work in 2009 has exemplified and advanced the above City Council objectives. Entertainment will include musical selections from the University of Oregon women’s a capella group Divisi.
The event is free and open to the public. It is wheelchair accessible and will be interpreted for the hearing-impaired.
