UPDATE as of 12/18/09 – Another holiday safety event will take place at Valley River Center on Saturday, December 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Eugene Police Department (EPD) continues to reach out to the community in an effort to decrease the number of theft victims during the holiday season.
Today, December 12, the EPD’s Crime Prevention Unit will set up a booth at Valley River Center until 6:00 p.m. The main focus of this event is to educate and prevent crime from happening in our community during the holiday season. There will be information available and individuals to assist and answer questions.
Also making an appearance at the booth will be McGruff, the crime fighting K9.
