First-place finishers from the regional Hershey’s Track & Field Games in the spring will compete at the state-level at 10 am this Saturday, July 11, at Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus.
The youths, ages 9-14, will be competing for a chance to move on to the North American Final Track and Field meet in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on July 30. Events include the 50, 100, and 200m dash; the 400, 800, and 1600m run; and the 400m relay, softball throw, and long jump.
The state championship event is coordinated by the City of Eugene’s Recreation Services.
