Summer skateboard competitions begin June 21; All ages and abilities welcome to participate

skateboard_vertical Eugene Recreation invites skaters of all ages and abilities to participate in the summer skateboard competitions beginning June 21. Each event will feature demo equipment, free hot dogs, prizes and music.

Registration is $3, which will benefit Skaters for Eugene Skateparks – a group working to build a new skate park under the Washington-Jefferson Bridge.

Event dates, locations and times

  • Sunday, June 21 – 3 to 7 pm at Cal Young Middle School, 2555 Gilham Road
  • Saturday, August 8 (Ladies-Only Jam) – 9 am to noon at Meadow View School, 1855 Legacy Street
  • Thursday, August 27 – 3 to 7 pm at Churchill High School, 1850 Bailey Hill Road

Youth under 18 must have parent or guardian present to register. Skater participants are required to wear a helmet.
