A public hearing regarding the garbage service tax increase will be held on Monday, April 20, at 7:30 pm in the Eugene City Council Chambers at City Hall, 777 Pearl Street.
The original proposal was for a 10 percent tax increase, but has since been reduced to 5 percent in order to gain public support. Councilors voted 5 “for” and 3 “against” at the April 8 City Council meeting.
You can contact the City Councilors (not just those representing your area) and the Mayor about this issue via email, which should be sent no later than noon on Monday:
