Can you describe this sound? (FREE album download)

by Jaculynn Peterson on April 2, 2009

While I’ve never written an album review and I’m not about to start now (because I’m a Lazy Music Person), I’m compelled to share a few thoughts about a local Eugene band – Circa Vitae – that I just discovered for myself online.

In short, I know when I hear something I like. So does that (and my head bobbing) qualify me to write this?

The sound of Circa Vitae is fresh and viscerally engaging. Even though portions of their music reminded me of sounds from Rush, Enigma, Pink Floyd and 10,000 Maniacs (among others), their particular brand of music actually defies definition. It’s unique.

How would you describe it?

Hear the album by clicking on the widget below…or download it for yourself – for FREE – right here.

We’re lucky to have this caliber of talent in our own backyard. ENJOY!

Note: Reviews of this album or any other music are welcome and encouraged at MyEugene. Email your review and include your preferred method of contact and info (IM, SMS, Twitter, Skype, email, phone, etc… ) Of course, we will include your name and an optional link.

Definitely has a Modest Mouse thing going on. Very good. Wouldn’t have heard this otherwise.
